Ph.D., Chair, Asia Cloud Computing Association (ACCA) Sustainability Working Group
Ken leads energy-related policy engagement for AWS in the Asia-Pacific region, where he is primarily focused on enabling Amazon/AWS's path to 100% renewable energy by 2025 and net carbon neutrality by 2040 goals. He is also Chair of the Sustainability Working Group at the Asia Cloud Computing Association (ACCA), and Chair of the Energy Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ). Previously, Ken has worked at the intersection of clean energy and tech-related policy with both startups and other large enterprises in APAC, and prior to this was a U.S.-based academic teaching/researching comparative politics and public policy at U.C. Berkeley, Harvard University, and Bard College. He holds a B.A. from Harvard University, and a Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
