Inaugurated last year, the Ho Bee Luminary Speaker Series in Sustainability promotes thought leadership and public awareness on corporate responsibility and sustainability by featuring leaders across the globe pushing the envelope on sustainable development. This year, we are expecting close to 300 attendees, consisting of local and international sustainability practitioners, academics, students and the general public.
This year, the Series will host Dr. Mari Elka Pangestu, the former Minister of Trade in Indonesia and former Managing Director of Development Policy and Partnerships for World Bank. She commands over 30 years of experience working across international trade, investment and development in multilateral, regional and national settings, and will shed key insights into the prospects (and challenges) of sustainable development within developing economies.
The Ho Bee Luminary Speaker Series in Sustainability, which previously hosted Georg Kell, Chairman of the Board of Arabesque, as its inaugural speaker last year, is part of the endowment at SMU by the Singapore-based real estate developer Ho Bee Land. Ho Bee Land has been generously sponsoring several events related to sustainability that we organise, including the Nature Finance Conference and the GRASFI Conference.
