Regional Advocacy & Campaigns Director Asia, Save the Children
Shaheen Chughtai is Save the Children International’s Regional Advocacy and Campaigns Director for Asia. Based in Singapore, Shaheen provides leadership and guidance to the organisation’s influencing work across the region and leads a team of specialists working with more than a dozen country offices to support vulnerable children and their families.
Shaheen has worked across a wide range of humanitarian and development issues in various policy and campaigning roles in the past 16 years. Previous roles include Head of Campaigns, Policy and Communications for Oxfam International's Syria Crisis Response (based in Jordan), and Deputy Head of Humanitarian Policy and Campaigns at Oxfam GB’s head office in Oxford.
A UK citizen, Shaheen holds a BA in Arabic and History and an MSC in International Politics of Asia and Africa, both from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies.
