Ritu Bharadwaj is the Director of Climate Resilience, Finance, and Loss & Damage at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED). With over 20 years of experience in policy development, research, and management across government, funding agencies, and international NGOs, she has extensively worked on climate resilience, resource conservation, social protection, migration, and gender issues. Ritu has led initiatives addressing climate adaptation, debt sustainability, and locally led adaptation efforts, particularly in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs). Her work has significantly influenced policy frameworks and strategies for national governments and international organisations. She has also facilitated high-level engagements with world leaders and international bodies to drive climate finance and equity-focused solutions.
