Shani is a regional energy expert with more than a decade of experience advocating for energy policy in Southeast Asia. Currently, Shani is the Head of the Power Generation and Interconnection Department at the ASEAN Centre for Energy, which leads and assists ASEAN Member States in implementing the regional cooperation on the ASEAN Power Grid and Civilian Nuclear Energy, including advising the ASEAN Member States stakeholders like policy maker, regulator, and utilities on an enabling environment for APG infrastructure development, cross-border trading, and system- wide transformation of ASEAN power system for the energy transition.

Prior to her current role, she has played a vital role in supporting energy transitions in Indonesia, empowering utilities to enhance renewable energy procurement for the industrial sector as well as working with the Indonesian government and policy makers on the energy transition topic.

Shani holds a BSc in Electrical Power Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology and a MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology from TU Delft, Netherlands.
