Global Sustainable Sourcing Director, Unilever
Martin leads sustainable sourcing at Unilever with a focus on commodities such as palm oil and coconut, wood-based packaging, soy, and cocoa. He is also leading Unilever’s commitments and goals to protect and regenerate nature, including our commitment to a zero-deforestation supply chain, the implementation of our cross-commodity supplier policy for people and nature, and our strategy to empower the next generation of smallholders.
Martin joined Unilever in Durban, South Africa in 1997, initially in supply chain then working in several leadership roles in the transformation of Unilever procurement across Africa. He was posted to Singapore in 2010 where he undertook the leadership of a diverse portfolio ranging from regional tea procurement to developing new business models and sustainable agriculture-based supply chains in India, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Myanmar. Before his current position, Martin served as Global Procurement Director for Unilever based out of Switzerland.
