Director for Sustainability & External Affairs, APRIL
Lucita Jasmin is the Director of Sustainability & External Affairs of the APRIL Group, a member of the RGE group of companies, where she is responsible for the implementation and advancement of APRIL's sustainability policy, programmes and practices, including conservation and restoration initiatives, stakeholder engagement and communications. Lucita has a global base of practice in strategic and corporate communications in the intergovernmental and private sectors. Over the last 15 years, she has led intercultural teams that provided communications counsel to senior management, strategized and executed campaigns and advocacy initiatives, organized stakeholder outreach on priority sustainability issues, and mobilized partners to support these.
Prior to her current post, Lucita served at the United Nations Environment Programme for seven years, based out of the UNEP headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. While there, she led the strategy development, planning and execution of global communication programmes and campaigns, including the highly successful campaign against food waste in partnership with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the UN Secretary General's Zero Hunger Challenge. She also provided strategic oversight to the campaign against Illegal Wildlife Trade, and was responsible for key outreach platforms such as the UNEP Pavilion at Rio+20 in 2012 and the Global South South Expo Solutions Pavilion in 2013.
