Mr. Jerome H. Cainglet is the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Energy Development Corporation (EDC), First Gen Corporation’s 100% renewable energy company under the Lopez Group of Companies. EDC is the largest vertically integrated geothermal power company in the world. 

Jerome was promoted to Executive Vice President and appointed COO in May 2023 before he was appointed by EDC’s Board of Directors as President effective on July 1, 2023. He first joined EDC on February 10, 2022 as Senior Vice President, Deputy COO, and Head of the Enterprise Commercial Group and held this position until May 12, 2023.

He is likewise the President, COO, and a member of the Board of Directors of various EDC subsidiaries including, BacMan Geothermal, Inc., Unified Leyte Geothermal, Inc., and EDC Geothermal Corporation. Jerome also continues to serve as Director of the Lopez Group’s various gas companies, including First Gas Holdings Corporation, First Gas Power Corporation, FGP Corp., First NatGas Power Corporation, First Gas Pipeline Corporation, and FG Land Corporation.

Jerome has been with the Lopez Group since July 1990 when he first joined First Philippine Holdings. He has been instrumental in developing and implementing the group’s major projects such as its 1,000megawatt (MW) Santa Rita and 500MW San Lorenzo gas-fired power plant projects as part of the Malampaya Gas-to-Power project prior to his transfer to EDC.

He is a graduate of B.S. Chemical Engineering from the University of the Philippines and has an Executive MBA degree from the Asian Institute of Management.
