A tireless green campaigner of the construction industry, Dr. Ho advocates sustainable construction and carries out many innovative R&D works. He has spearheaded many green innovations and developments that have contributed significantly to the construction industry in Singapore. Dr. Ho has been serving on the board of theSingapore Green Building Council since 2011 in different capacities, most recently as 1st Vice President before assuming the role of President in 2019.

Dr. Ho has received numerous awards in recognition of his meritorious contributions to the works that he was in.He awarded the BCA–SGBC Green Innovator Award of the year in 2011, in recognition of his breakthrough achievements in green building product and technology invention. He has been involved for more than 20 years in construction and environmental works, R&D of waste materials and green technologies. He has been appointed by BCA as an Industry Ambassador to raise the industry standard and build capability as well as to shape a safe and sustainable and friendly built environment.

Dr. Ho is the Chief Operating Officer and a Board Director of Samwoh Group, the forefront company of providing civil engineering and construction services, supplying of building materials, recycling of industrial wastes and consultancy services. His state-of-the-art green works have also helped the Group to clinch many distinguished green awards. Dr Ho also is currently the Immediate Past President of the Singapore Contractors AssociationLimited (SCAL) – the largest association that championing the construction industry in Singapore with more than3,200 members. He is also invited by various institutions and professional bodies to serve as an advisor/committee/ council/ board member.

He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy degree in civil engineering in 1986 from the University of Dundee in Scotland where he also received his Bachelor and Master’s degrees. He is a registered Professional Engineer of Singapore and Malaysia as well as a Chartered Engineer of United Kingdom.
