Fergal Mee is a vastly experienced environmental consultant and trainer, working with diverse clients on environmental, sustainability and GHG emissions projects. Fergal heads up the Environmental practice at the group, including its UK affiliate Carbon Action. Prior to joining the group, Fergal worked at Novartis Ireland as Plant Manager involved in the site energy and environmental operations, this site is both an IPC and an EU – ETS site.
Fergal was instrumental in rolling out the ISO 14064 suite of courses on carbon emissions quantification, reduction, validation and verification in multiple countries. Fergal also worked in the UK’s CRC, SERC and Mandatory Carbon Reporting Schemes. He has worked on GHG and Carbon footprint projects throughout Europe, in North America, Africa, the mid-East and Asia. Fergal was involved in a CDM Hydro-power project in developing the PDD for the Felou Project.
Fergal is a member of the ISO/TC 207/SC 7 "Greenhouse gas management and related activities” Committee, this involves participation in ISO Standards development.
At Novartis Fergal was responsible for environmental and energy management programmes – one of which lead to an award by the Irish Minister for the Environment in 2005. As Site Energy Committee Chairman, Fergal introduced a bottom up – users’ approach to site energy management which replaced the Project Engineer lead regime, which achieved a number of no-cost and low-cost energy and emission reductions.
