ENGR. Joshua Miguel D. Lopez

National Coordinator, Philippines Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (PH-EITI)

Engr. Joshua Miguel Lopez is the National Coordinator of the PH-EITI. Created in 2013 through E.O. No. 147, the PH-EITI is a government-led, multi-stakeholder initiative that implements EITI, the global standard that promoted transparency, accountability, good governance, and public participation in the extractive sector. Joshua's experience in development work covers just energy transition, digital transformation, decentralization, rural development, security sector reform, and youth empowerment. Prior to joining PH-EITI, Joshua worked in lead positions in the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the Legal Network for Truthful Elections(LENTE), and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Philippines (FES), and as a consultant for Oxfam Pilipinas, FES Asia, Student Energy, WeGen Energy, and Bantay Kita.

Joshua is the Board Chair of Reboot Philippines, a youth network for the just energy transition, and holds board and advisory roles in other development initiatives. Joshua holds a bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from the University of the Philippines Diliman, and is currently taking his Master in Public Management degree from the Ateneo School of Government.
