Department of Geography, NUS, and Deputy Director of the NUS Centre for Nature-based Solutions
Dan is a Dean's Chair in the Department of Geography, NUS, and Deputy Director of the NUS Centre for Nature-based Solutions. Dan leads the Mangrove Lab, who research coastal ecosystem services, particularly blue carbon in mangrove and seagrass ecosystems and how they can mitigate climate change. They are also interested in how mangroves and seagrasses are threatened by human pressures, how they respond to sea-level rise, and how they can be restored. Much of this work is conducted in collaboration with government agencies, NGOs and corporate partners.
