Briony O’Shea

Low Carbon Energy Transition and Hydrogen Specialist, GPA Engineering

Briony is a specialist consultant at GPA Engineering, with over 25 years' energy sector experience in engineering, operations, and project management. She manages GPA’s extensive hydrogen industry portfolio, which includes a broad range of projects, from techno-economic analysis, strategy development and concept studies, to detailed design, construction management and commissioning of some of Australia’s first hydrogen facilities.

Briony’s current focus areas are the regulatory and policy aspects of the emerging hydrogen economy and the broader transition to future fuels. She sits on the International Association for Hydrogen Safety Scientific Committee, is an industry advisor to the Future Fuels CRC and a member of the Australian Standards – Hydrogen (ME-093) working groups. Briony is also chair of not-for-profit organisation CORENA, providing funding and technical support for emissions reduction projects in Australian local communities.
