Vice President, Group Corporate Sustainability, Singtel & Optus
Andrew is Vice President for the SingTel Group’s Corporate Sustainability, and a coach to over 160 talent and leaders since 2013.
Andrew had led the Singtel Group’s corporate sustainability practice since 2013 to expand its role and scope to cover all elements of environmental, climate action, product stewardship, social impact and innovation, sustainable supply chain and people strategy for diversity and inclusion. In 2016, Singtel undertook its first environmental life cycle assessment and climate scenario risk assessment across Singapore and Australia which shaped the company’s climate adaptation and resilience strategy.
This was expanded in 2021 and 2022 to a full climate risk analysis in line with recommendations by the Task Force on Climate Risk Related Financial Disclosures(TCFD). Singtel was also the first company in Asia and Australasia (ex Japan)to have approved in 2017 its absolute carbon reduction targets by SBTi aligned to a well below zero degrees scenario. Andrew was involved in a global sector-based task force to align the global mobile industry toward a 2050 net zero carbon target and pathway subsequently approved by SBTI in 2019.
In 2019 Singtel was awarded Singapore’s highest environmental accolade, the President’s Award for the Environment 2019, recognising Singtel for its dedication to climate action, carbon commitments and in engaging the wider community on environmental sustainability.
