Meeting Sustainability and Climate Goals with the Cloud in Asia Pacific

The most recent report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) highlights how our already narrow window for action is closing, and that “rapid, deep and immediate” changes are still needed to mitigate the worst effects of climate change. Last year, AWS’s inaugural Asia-Pacific (APAC) regional Sustainability Summit featured discussions with experts on key trends concerning sustainability of the cloud—i.e. how cloud infrastructure manages to run ever greater volumes of IT workloads with increasing efficiency and lower carbon intensity—as well as discussions with leading AWS customers and partners on how they are leveraging the power of the cloud to drive greater sustainability outcomes in their own businesses (i.e. accelerating sustainability in and through the cloud).

This year, AWS’s second annual Asia Pacific Sustainability Summit will showcase how regional governments, companies, and organizations can go even further in approaching cloud-enabled digital transformation and decarbonization as mutually-reinforcing ‘twin transitions,’ including innovative case studies from the Power & Utilities sector in particular.
