About this Event

Close to 40% of global carbon emissions is generated by the real estate and infrastructure sectors – and about 70 per cent of these emissions are produced by building operations. The real estate industry is therefore a key focal point for climate action, presenting one of the biggest opportunities for decarbonization today.  But it will come at a price – around US$18 trillion in investments is required over the next decade for the real estate industry to reach net zero, according to a Cushman & Wakefield study.

Eco-Business will convene a meeting on 18 May 2023 to discuss these key trends in partnership with Accacia, a decarbonisation platform focused on the real estate and infrastructure sectors. The event, ‘Managing Climate Risk in Real Estate’, will cover climate risks and assessments in real estate, and discuss actionable pathways to net zero cities of the future, in conversation with industry leaders representing government, tech, asset management, property development, as well as financial institutions and venture capital.
